Members of  Ternopil regional branch of YPO “Democratic Alliance joined the celebration of the National Flag Day in Ternopil. The main feature of this year celebration was beating all records of the size of the national flag of Ukraine. Representatives of the most youth organizations of Ternopil city joined the celebration.

It is a fascinating feeling of participation in grandiose patriotic event. After I participated in flag hoisting, I smile happily all the day long. It is so pleasant that so many people  in our city wanted to join celebration of one of the most patriotic holidays in our country "-  a member of Ternopic regional branch of "Democratic alliance" Olga Fizer said.

More than two thousand young people unfurled the biggest yellow-blue flag in our country round Ternopol pond on August, 22. This cloth is - 9,5 km in length and 75 sm at width, - said businessman Evgenie Fil who sewed the flag-champion for free. - Ten masters within ten days worked over it. The flag-champion weighs 368 kg . The flag was carried by the special car, and young people who stood along Pond  helped to unfurl it.

For 15-20 minutes the yellow-blue ribbon wrapped round the whole coast.

The record was officially fixed by the representative of the Book of records of Ukraine.

Atleast ten thousand people came to see the raising of the greatest national flag. After the action the flag was divided into 6000 smaller flags which will be given to educational and medical institutions, libraries, cultural institutions and other establishments of the region.
