In the context of civil campaign "National Parks to be" one of the coordinators of which is MkRB “Democratic Alliance” more than 1000 letters of request not to revoke the status of national parks “Biloberezhzhya Sviatoslava” and “Bugskiy Guard” were sent to the Presidential Administration. Before Mykolayiv Regional Council had appealed to President of Ukraine to cancel the status of protected teritories.
Some letters were directed to the Ministry for Environmental protection and only on July, 1 the response came. If the answer from the Presidential Administration look rather ambiguously: "issues are under the constant control of the Presidential Administration, Head of State fully supports initiatives to expand the network of protected areas", the answer from the Ministry cleared the situation around the problem: "Ministry supports the position of citizens of Mykolayiv city and region to prevent the abolition of the above objects of the natural reserve fund of national importance status of national parks.
According to the Act of Ukraine "On Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine" abolition of the status of territories and objects of natural reserve fund is held in accordance with Articles 51-53 of this Act, in consultation with central executive authority in the field of environmental protection on the appropriate expert opinion.
At this time a motion to the cancel of the status of national parks "Biloberezhzhya Sviatoslava" and "Bugskiy Guard" were reported to the Ministry and the question of cancellation of their status is raised.
Thus, all attempts of the Mykolayiv regional Council to deprive the Concervation status of the charming corners of the Mykolayiv region ended in failure.
